CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD ASSIGNMENT

On Tuesday, December 22, our class will host the other three 6th grade classes. Our students will have researched how Christmas is celebrated in the countries they have been studying. If their countries are not Christian, they will research winter festivals and celebrations. They should find pictures or artifacts to help them explain the celebration. As students from the other classes file through, our students will stand at their desks and explain the customs, using pictures and artifacts. It would be highly effective, but not mandatory, if our students could wear something similar to the traditional dress of their countries.
We will host the other classes in the morning, and would like to hold a luncheon/social hour for the afternoon. We would love to have parents bring food in for the luncheon. We will need main dishes as well as vegetables, fruits, drinks and treats. Right now we're leaning towards Mexican food, but I'll keep you posted on that. Watch the blog for exact information. Because of state statutes, all food must be prepared in a state approved facility, so it cannot be prepared at home.
We are excited about the day, and welcome parents to come watch your children teach about their countries.
